Meet the Team

  • Sarah’s interest in interior design began while completing a senior project at Columbus High School, located in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. Her mother’s creative legacy and the fountain city’s eclectic forms of architecture sparked her inspiration for interior design.

Sarah attended Valdosta State University and earned a 5-year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design while working full-time. She worked her way up from serving tables to working in kitchen and bath design in a local Valdosta showroom.

After graduation, Sarah moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work for Oldcastle Surfaces. This earned her experience in large-scale kitchen and bath construction. From Oldcastle Surfaces she continued on to work at Sandler Seating. Working at Sandler gave Sarah a unique experience in commercial furniture by linking her to design manufacturers in London, England, and Italy. While working at Sandler, Sarah became inspired to attend Savannah College of Art and Design to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design. At SCAD, Sarah honed her skills in using research studies and the Evidence-Based Design method to create advanced design solutions. Her thesis studies focused on wellness in interior design and evaluated many of the top current major building standards.

While attending SCAD, Sarah worked at Harrison Design as an intern. Harrison Design is best known for its classic southern residential architecture and high-end interior design. After her internship, Sarah gained employment at F.A. Hunter and Associates. Working for F.A. Hunter provided Sarah with great training in the hospitality interior design industry including work with Marriott Corporate and InterContinental Hotel Groups (IHG).

Following her graduation from SCAD, Sarah relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where she joined Lori Carroll and Associates (LCA). LCA is renowned for its nationally acclaimed, high-end residential interior design projects. During her time there, Sarah took on various roles, including project manager and construction manager, allowing her to gain valuable in-field experience.

Sarah founded Intrepid Interior Design to bring the culmination of her skills in interior design for wellness to the Southwest. Intrepid Interior Design focuses on projects that require a sense of cordiality such as retail spaces, restaurants, hotels, and residences. Sarah has an eclectic range of hobbies including textile making, cooking, baking, gardening, genealogy, history, and various outdoor-based hobbies such as 4x4 travel and camping. Sarah's personal interests constantly hone her attention to detail and infuse her designs with soothing and natural elements, which she seamlessly incorporates into each of her endeavors.

  • Mawlie’s interest in barkitecture started at a young age, during her puppyhood in Valdosta, Georgia. She gained observation experience while working with Sarah.

Mawlie and Sarah formed a bond early on while going through their respective design schools. As a Georgia Tech legacy, Mawlie double majored in barketing and barkitecture.

Although many felt Mawlie would not live up to being a designer dog, she kept a paws-itive attitude during her early training and career.

Mawlie briefly considered working in roofing but continued on to support Sarah in her design journey.

Her designs commonly include furring out walls and look quite fetching once they all come together.

Today Mawlie is in charge of shipment inspections, sniffing out the details in many designs, and is an integral part of customer relations and barketing for Intrepid Interior Design.

Mawlie’s hobbies of whining and dining come in handy but sometimes lead her to sleep on the job.

Mawlie insures that both clients and Sarah are cared for on even the ruffest days during construction projects. She reminds us all that anything is paws-ible.
